The Things That Kids Say...

Author: Skynite

I laughed aloud when I heard this from Cheng....

Dylan woke up 1 day & went to the kitchen & saw Minda (my maid, dylan calls her dada) ironing his school uniform.

Dylan: What you doing dada?

Minda: Ironing your school uniform.

Dylan: Wah... so nice... why you iron dada?

Minda: Oh... because I love you Dylan.

Dylan then smile & saw my clothes were being ironed too.

Dylan: Dada... then why you iron daddy's clothes?

Minda: um........

Mummy: Dylan what did u learn in school today?

Dylan: Mr Bean!

Usher Ministry

Author: Skynite

Finally back home and settled down after Expo Hall shifting. Its physically "siong" but yet fulfilling (I know many will not agree with me).

As an usher leader in church, most of the time requires me to make decisions when situations arise. Thus, sometimes I do enjoy to have a break from it and do something less stressful (to the brain). Like stacking chairs in the hall for example... does not require much thinking.

It serves as a good "workout" for me (age is catching up with me man) and most importantly helps me to understand the junior ushers better. Truly, sometimes we chief ushers may have taken things/people for granted and assume our requests can be done easily....

Anyway, its great to be in this ministry. We have the most hardworking bunch of people here (ok I am bias... but who cares). Ha!

To all ushers... Thank you for serving so tirelessly with me.

It Pays to be NICE

Author: Skynite

It CERTAINLY does!

I thought I was serving my colleague (thinking how noble I was going the extra mile).

Thank God for this colleague of mine!! In the end, it turned out that she actually saved the day and my program could carry out smoothly.

Sometimes, God really works in His mysterious ways.

Dylan: Daddy, I want to go playground...

Daddy: Oh... Daddy has to go off. We go another day ok?

Dylan: ...(Silently looking away from me)...

I feel so bad having to refuse his 1st request on his birthday...

A Father's Love

Author: Skynite

In his book Jesus Among Other Gods, Ravi Zacharias tells a story about a girl who became hopelessly lost in a dark and dense forest. She called and screamed, but to no avail. Her alarmed parents and a group of volunteers searched frantically for her. When darkness fell, they had to give up for the night.

Early the next morning the girl's father reentered the forest to search for her and spied her fast asleep on a rock. He called her name and ran toward her. Startled awake, she threw her arms out to him. As he picked her up and hugged her, she repeated over and over, "Daddy, I found you!"

Dylan was still having a bit of runny nose & coughing when I sent him to school this morning. As I was on my way back, I can't help it but by thinking is he going to be alright... Now being a parent of 2, I truly understand the love that our parents have for us when we were kids. How worried they get when we fall sick or when we come home a little later than usual. And I am just as guilty as anyone that we often belittled the effort & action of our parents who woke up early to prepare the breakfast or reading us a bedside story & tucking us to bed.

Dads have a wonderful opportunity to encourage, to warn, to teach, to counsel, and to model the Christian life for our kids. It's significant that Moses' instruction in Deuteronomy 6 was directed toward fathers. Verse 7 especially spells out one task of a father-to teach his children.

This sounds like Paul's statement in Ephesians 6:4. He said that fathers should rear their children "in the training and admonition of the Lord." Christian fathers who do this will distinguish themselves from other dads and will be obedient to God's will. Oh, that our children would be nurtured by moms AND DADs who love the Lord!

Author: Skynite

We were at Ah Ma's house & Dylan picked up 姑姑's hair bend & started wearing it. He had so much fun putting it on & off his head.

Klessis' girl likes cars more than she likes barbie dolls...

My son like cars & hair bend... um... should I be worried?

Godma's Car

Author: Skynite

Godma Beeling always fetches Cheng & Dylan around whenever she's around. Dylan is so used to taking Godma's car that he would often associate going out as "Godma's Car".

The other day, while waiting for our turn to see the Gynae, Dylan shocked us by flipping to a magazine (pointing to a BMW logo) and said, "Godma's car".
